Bimbau's musical journey began on the outskirts of Sao Paulo, Brazil, where rhythm was an integral part of daily life. At 18, she moved to Paris, immersing herself in the city's club culture and taking her first steps into electronic music. A few years later, she moved to London, further exploring underground dance culture. In 2018, Bimbau relocated to Berlin, spending four years deeply engrossed in DJ culture, crafting her sound from the ground up. Her style is a fusion of house, heavy percussions, tribal grooves, and raw 90s vocals, creating intense, percussive sets designed for the dancefloor. Her name, Bimbau, is inspired by the Afro-Brazilian instrument berimbau—a symbol of resistance and movement—reflecting how sound can traverse oceans, evolve through cultures, and foster a sense of connection, freedom, and belonging.
