Luke Hess - DeepLabs / FXHE / Rekids / Echocord / Dolly Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, USA, Luke Hess has cultivated a deep affinity for electronic music and the underground movement. His background in mathematics and engineering lends a scientific edge to his dance floor performances, where he manipulates frequencies, tones, and soundscapes to shape surroundings and mood. In 2003, Hess released his first promotional mix CD on UR/Submerge. Since then, his faith-based music production has earned him a place with FXHE and Planet-e in Detroit. His debut album was unveiled in early May 2009 by the Denmark-based label Echocord. In 2010, Hess launched his own interpretation of Detroit techno with DeepLabs, his new record label. His sophomore album “Keep On” was released on FXHE records in 2012 and received a Recommended 4.5/5 rating on Resident Advisor. Known for his meticulous approach to live sets and behind-the-decks performances, Hess layers his tracks in a detailed and hypnotic manner. He has graced notable venues and events such as Tresor (Berlin), Culture Box (Copenhagen), Berghain (Berlin), Unit (Tokyo), Detroit Electronic Music Festival (Detroit), Fabric (London), The End Up (San Francisco), Golden Pudel (Hamburg), Sirup (Zagreb), Weekend Club (Berlin), Cubic Club (Madrid), Space (Ibiza), The Bunker (NYC) and many other venues worldwide. Luke Hess's ongoing dedication to studio work and performances, coupled with his relentless curiosity about technology and sound, promises to push the boundaries of electronic music.
