Luke Hess, a Detroit-based artist, has cultivated a deep connection with electronic music, rooted in his background in mathematics and engineering. His approach to DJing is characterized by a scientific exploration of frequencies, tones, and soundscapes that create immersive experiences on the dance floor. Hess's career began with a promotional mix CD release for UR/Submerge in 2003. He later joined FXHE and Planet-e in Detroit, and his debut album was released by Echocord in 2009. In 2010, he established DeepLabs, his own interpretation of Detroit techno. His sophomore album "Keep On" was released on FXHE records in 2012. Known for his meticulous live sets and intricate layering of tracks, Hess has performed at renowned venues worldwide, including Tresor (Berlin), Berghain (Berlin), Fabric (London), The End Up (San Francisco), and many others. His ongoing dedication to studio work and performance, coupled with his fascination with technology and sound, promises to push the boundaries of electronic music.
