El Melomano Aleman, also known as Tonton Sculp, is a Berlin-based artist with a passion for Latin American music, particularly traditional Cumbia and Colombian Gaitas. His musical journey began in 2008, inspired by weekly visits to a Latin night in Kreuzberg, where he was introduced to various genres of Latin America. In 2017, he traveled to Colombia to immerse himself in the birthplaces of the music he loves, and since then, his focus has shifted towards Salsa music, with a keen interest in contra rhythms. He started collecting vinyls in 2018, particularly of Salsa music, and finds the celebration and conservation of this music in Cali, Colombia, to be paradisiacal.
