Pawas

Pawas Gupta, professionally known as Pawas, is an Indian-born DJ and electronic music producer based in Berlin. With a classical foundation and self-taught skills in percussion, bass guitar, and keyboards, he began his career as a DJ in India at age 17. Transitioning into music production, Pawas made a strong entry in 2007 with the release "Katang." Since then, he’s released popular tracks like Det (with Daso), Playtex EP, Bummelzug, Piano Rain, Naja (with Arooj Aftab) and Camel blues. His signature sound fuses melodies, musicianship, atmospheric textures, deep house, and Detroit-influenced grooves—what he calls intelligent house. Recent releases include the Reject EP (2024), Versus - Vol . 3 (Feat. Mastra, Unnayanaa & Gamelan Industries) (2019), and Naja EP (2019). His eclectic style can be heard in his DJ sets and mixes, such as Recording from Anima | Berlin 2025.

Pawas played in Wintergarten at Sisyphos Pfingstiphos on 8 June 2025, Nichtgeburtstag 2024 on 5 October 2024 and on 25 May 2024.
