Stephen Taylor, known by his username stephenpaultaylor, is a synth-pop artist based in Berlin. His musical journey began in Canada, where he fell in love with Eighties music and started writing songs at 14 years old. After graduating from Emily Carr Art University, he chose music over filmmaking and became a full-time musician in 2009 as part of the duo Trike. In 2013, Taylor branched off and went solo, gaining viral fame with "EKSF." Since then, he has released several albums and EPs, including "People Tonight," "Single and 17," and "Synthpop is Dead." His latest single, "Craving My Affection," was released in 2023 and features influences from Synthwave and "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd. Taylor's music is characterized by a blend of synth-pop, trap, pop, electropop, electro, dance, moody, and emotional elements. His upcoming single features Preston Heyman (Kate Bush’s drummer) as producer and Derrick McIntyre (Jamiroquai) on bass.
