Walter Griot's musical journey began in 80s Berlin, within a traditional Senegalese Griot family. His exposure to African percussion instruments such as the Djembe, Sabar drums, Kora, and Balafon laid the groundwork for his house and techno production and DJ sets. As a member of the Berlin-based RISE collective alongside Hyenah, Floyd Lavine, Dede, Minco, and Jamiie, he continues to blend African musical elements with contemporary electronic beats.

Walter Griot played in Schlupfloch at Bucht der Träumer festival 2025, in Seebühne at Fusion festival 2025 and in Strand at Sisyphos Ducklantik on 25 May 2025.
