Chris Solaris, a prominent figure in Norway's electronic music scene, is renowned for his minimalist aesthetic and captivating performances as a DJ, producer, and label boss. With roots in graffiti art, he transitioned into DJing in the late '90s, inspired by LTJ Bukem and Photek. In 2001, Solaris co-founded Beat Foundation in Trondheim, Norway, before moving to London in 2004 where he refined his style and expanded his sonic horizons. Collaborations with artists like Kopernik and Karl Fraunhofer revitalized his production work, leading to his first vinyl release on a Kompakt sublabel in 2005. Returning to Norway in 2008, Solaris established Det Gode Selskab alongside Tod Louie, encompassing a residency, label, and festival. Today, he runs the Det Gode Selskab record label and event series, which has gained international support with releases featuring both emerging and established artists. His distinctive sound continues to resonate across Norway and beyond, as demonstrated in his recent productions such as "Song For Bjørn (Chris Solaris in color mix)" and "Chris Solaris - Velo" from 2025.
