Close Counters

Close Counters, based in Naarm/Melbourne, blend house, neo-soul, broken beat, and disco to create a diverse soundscape. Their 2023 Music Victoria Award-winning album 'SOULACOASTA II' showcases their talent, with the duo sourcing niche samples from global travels. The LP garnered praise from tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson, Folamour, and Jamz Supernova. Breakout singles have been featured on Australian stations Double J, 3RRR, PBS, and 2SER, and were released by Melvo Baptiste's The Remedy Project, an imprint of Defected Records. Their collaboration 'Rollout' with Young Franco, Scrufizzer, and Jay Prince gained international acclaim, appearing in the FIFA 23 official soundtrack and Apple's recent iPhone campaign. Close Counters have performed on various radio stations, toured internationally, and sold out shows across Australia. They expand their live performances to a 7-piece ensemble with visuals, dancers, and guest musicians and vocalists from their collective.
