Pawas

Pawas Gupta, professionally known as Pawas, is an Indian-born DJ and electronic music producer currently residing in Berlin. With a classical background in tabla and self-taught skills in percussion, bass guitar, and keyboards, he began his career as a DJ in India at the age of 17. In 2004, he moved to Europe, quickly gaining recognition within Germany's electronic music scene. Transitioning into music production, Pawas made a significant impact in 2007 with the release "Katang." Since then, he has released popular tracks such as Det (with Daso), Playtex EP, Bummelzug, Piano Rain, Naja (with Arooj Aftab) and Camel blues on respected labels including Spectral Sound, Connaisseur, Squonk, Get Physical, and Night Drive Music. His music style is characterized by the fusion of melodies, musicianship, atmospheric textures, deep house, and Detroit-influenced grooves, which he refers to as intelligent house. Pawas's musical journey bridges his roots in classical Indian music with his experiences as an independent producer in Germany.
