Italian producer Gianfranco Barnaba, based in Berlin, is the creative force behind Ruff Stuff. Known for his work on various labels such as !K7, Shall Not Fade, Madhouse Records, Suol, Sloth Boogie, and STEP Recordings, he is particularly acclaimed for his output on his own label, Ruff Stuff Music Ltd. Growing up during the '90s electronic wave, Barnaba transitioned from clubbing to DJing and vinyl collecting before producing electronic music in the mid-2000s. His initial productions were rooted in IDM and Ambient genres, influenced by his affinity for ethereal melodies and complex broken beats. A rediscovery of classic records led him to shift towards House music. Ruff Stuff's sound is characterized by rough samples, hypnotic melodies, groovy beats, and vocals, as he aims to blend the essence of old-school House, Techno, and Garage with contemporary sounds. In 2015, Ruff Stuff launched his label, Ruff Stuff Music Ltd, releasing limited edition 12" vinyls.
