Sumo.music is a renowned DJ and producer, known for his distinctive take on Garage House. His debut single, Hokori, showcases funky rattling snares, basslines, and sublime vocals that elevate the track beyond genre boundaries. The Ishiki EP, featuring Hokori, is set for release on Sonar Kollektiv. Sumo's musical journey began with piano and guitar at a young age, followed by turntable ownership at fifteen. He later completed formal training as a composer and sound designer. Today, he works at a prestigious sound branding studio, composing music for high-profile projects such as Smart trade fairs, Bread&Butter exhibition for Mercedes-Benz, and the Humboldt Forum in Berlin. As a DJ, Sumo has been performing for over a decade at various clubs and festivals, including 0711 Club, Freund & Kupferstecher, MTV HipHop Open, New Fall Festival, and brand events hosted by Hugo Boss, Karl Lagerfeld, Vogue, Grazia, Mustang, Breuninger, among others. In addition to studio sessions and DJ performances, Sumo hosts the 0711 radio show on egoFM and produces the Rillencheck podcast in collaboration with the Mercedes-Benz Museum, alongside other esteemed DJ artists like Konstantin Sibold, Leif Muller, Dexter, Fatoni, and Torch.
