Risa Taniguchi
Producer and DJ Risa Taniguchi is a prominent figure in Japan's underground techno scene. Her sound, characterized by a hypnotic blend of distortion, acid, and rhythm, reflects the emotional duality inherent in techno music. In 2025, she released the "Break It EP" on Chris Liebing's CLR label, following her successful "So Loud EP" that reached No.1 on Beatport's Techno chart. Her versatility as a producer is further demonstrated through releases on labels such as MOOD Records and Second State. On stage, Risa commands dance floors with an intensity rooted in control and emotion, making her one of the most sought-after DJs in Japan. She holds residencies at WOMB and Ohjo bldg in Tokyo, and regularly tours Europe and the United States. Her performances have been featured at notable events like Berlin's Rave The Planet and Ultra Japan's RESISTANCE stage. Beyond the club scene, Risa has composed music for Japanese fashion brand ATTACHMENT and hosts a radio program on J-WAVE. For Risa, techno is more than just rhythm – it is a form of emotional architecture, translating tension, distortion, and silence into shared human experiences.
