Roots Daughters

Roots Daughters, a duo formed in 2009, are dedicated soundsystem enthusiasts and champions of dub/roots music. Originating from Pula, Croatia, they honed their craft at Ljubljana's Autonomous Cultural Centre Metelkova Mesto. After relocating to Berlin in 2013, they joined forces with Jahminta Zulu from Vintage Night Cologne. Inspired by Rastafari and Jamaican soundsystem culture, their sessions are a vibrant blend of sharing knowledge, skill development, and mutual empowerment. As passionate vinyl collectors, they offer an immersive Reggae Music experience, showcasing its rich history and contemporary releases. Regularly organizing events, Roots Daughters provide a platform for female activists in the scene and pay tribute to underappreciated female artists of the past by playing their music. Their mission is to advocate for equal rights and justice through their music.
